Bought these shelving units to hold all our bins of seasonal decorations and other storage items. We were very impressed with how easy they are to put together. We bought and set up 6 of them and liked them so well we bought 10 more! We learned some assembly tricks after the first couple. Here are the steps we used: 1) take everything out and unpack all items. 2) put leveling feet and pipe connectors on the bottom pieces 3) put the plastic sleeves on the bottom rung of each of the 4 bottom pipes. 4) stand one shelf on its end and insert two of the bottom pipes so that the shelf locks down over the plastic sleeves 5) flip the shelf over and insert the other two pipes over the plastic sleeves 6) set up the shelf unit with leveling feet down 7) we tapped down gently on each corner of the shelf to ensure a tight fit over the plastic sleeves 8) we put one of the bins we are putting on the bottom shelf to determine where to put the next set of plastic sleeves 9) add next shelf as previously described 10) only when needed, screw the upper pipes into the bottom pipes to avoid dealing with the 6 foot length 11) repeat process until complete 22) enjoy your new storage shelf! We ordered 2 of these to finally organize all our camping gear and random stuff in our basement and I gotta say I’ll probably be ordering 2 more to finish organizing everything else. These were very easy to assemble, I had someone to help me which made it go quickly, maybe took 10 minutes a shelf, definitely doable with one person just might take longer. I saw some people freaking out about the “clips” that you put on and then slide a shelf over, and repeat until all the shelves are on and I’m not sure why people were so crazy about that. You can undo the clips if you align it wrong or something. You just pull the shelf up off of them, or tip it over so you’re pushing rather than pulling. Frankly until you put a TON of weight on the shelves, you’ll still always probably be able to pull them off the clips and restart or move them. The shelves themselves don’t lock onto the clips, they just close down in on them the harder you push the shelf onto them because of their shape. Ultimately what I’m saying is don’t be worried that if you assemble it wrong or need to change the shelves height that you won’t be able to because you will. It’ll be fine. Buy the shelf.we live in a very rural area near the continental divide. as a consequence especially during the colder months we have to keep a lot of surplus supplies in storage in case we can't get out due to snow.i had filled up all the shelf space for what we had but needed more. this looked good, was rated well and the price worked for me. it took just a few minutes to snap the pieces together. the shelving is made with genuine solid metal not some knock off cheap slag.the size if perfect. height and spacing between the shelves allows me to get anything i need to in it. we have ours in the basement so having the lower shelf raised just a bit off the floor level is good. that's good in case say for example the sump pump quits and water floods out in the basement area. so piece of mind that what is stored on it will stay dry no matter.the shelves are rock solid, no sway or bending whatsoever. i weigh 160 pounds and could sit on a shelf without fear of going down lol. not that i ever plan to sit on it just saying it is made from good materials.if you need good shelving that'll last a lifetime look no further.*** you came back to the reviews for a reason, pay attention to the ones that describe building the shelves re: CLIPS CLIPS CLIPSI don’t know how to tell you to buy this shelving and not buy this shelving at the same time. Once you’ve said every cuss word you know and are ready to jam this somewhere, you will come back to Amazon and quickly go to the reviews and find all the helpful information needed to dominate the CLIPS. If you were able to put the shelf together without a quick check at the reviews, that was a pure accident and no you are not a master shelf builder. The CLIPS are absolutely useless until you slide the shelf down onto them simultaneously-ish which telescopes the CLIP into the hole on the shelf. This forces the CLIP to make the connection on both sides that you were unable to make prior. This is now a permanent setting so make sure your shelves are even. It’s barely perceptible that the CLIPS are a bit narrow at the top and wider at the bottom until you place the shelving onto them, locking them in place and preventing the shelves from slipping. I like simple instructions, and was excited to see not a lot of words plus 1000 pieces, however they do need to be comprehensive and if there is a design flaw or magical CLIP Info, don’t make me come back to Amazon for tips and tricks cause I’ll just buy more stuff while I’m here. All that said, these shelves are really freaking awesome. Sturdy and attractive. Great price. Don’t overload it with your rock collection, use them in a manner according to the weight limit specs and buy additional units if needed.I would buy these again now that I know the CLIP SECRETS. My only fear is them not being available when I want five more. This is just what I was looking for as a matter of fact I just ordered another one and they should be here this coming Thursday and most likely I'll be ordering a couple more if you're looking for a neat little Shelf it's a little different putting it together but you really don't need any tools I did it by myself I'm a disabled senior and if I can do it you can do it this is a great little shelves I highly recommend them to anybody that's looking for this type of unitWe ordered three sets for our new house, trying to create some order in the chaos. Two sets were complete and the third was missing the feet, called the company and they were going to mail me the feet, just waiting on those to arrive. The white paint was a little soft and prone to scratch off, but otherwise decent shelves.I don’t have a pantry so I needed something to hold cases of water and drinks. These shelves will hold all the drinks and more. It did take 2 people to put it together but it didn’t take long at all. I also liked that you can adjust the shelves to heights that accommodate your needs. Well worth the money.Heavy duty!!!!! Very sturdy. And easy to put together. 5 tier. I dremeled off after tier 3 and was able to use the left over for a 2 tier for another room. Can take a Lot of weight. Looks good.Absolutely suburb I have a metal wardrobe similar to this and ive had that for 15 years so knew what to expect. Easy to put together and can be easily dismantled if I need to.very pleased.Picture is NOT a true representation of size. Much smaller. I was shocked as it only came up to my thigh. I'm 5'3". For the slightly less money I bought from Ikea 2, three shelf, wider shelving??This is excellent quality and built to last (looks good, too!). Happy to recommend this. It's an alright shelf unit at the price I paid for it. The package came undamaged, yet all of the individual shelves had the black coating flecking off before assembly. I put it together anyway since I didn't want to deal with a return and waiting on another shelf to come, it won't have anything stored on it where I won't notice black coating flecks getting on or in.I would maybe look elsewhere if you're looking for and need an NSF approved shelf. I have a couple black Amazon Basics shelves of the same design, they get a lot of use and even get banged around a lot and I've never seen anything like that on them.
