The shelves are 7mm MDF, but can probably hold to the capacity of the legs. It's a little flimsy, but for the price point it's about right. The vertical connector doesn't do a great job, and will lead to the shelves coming part if you attempt to pick it up. I secured the legs with a zip tie to ensure this doesn't happen. The shelves do not come with screws to hold them down, so ignore the holes in the horizontal spans. The sheet metal used is 1mm thick with paint, but the final product doesn't distort very much, so shouldn't require cross bracing. No feet provided, so plan on doing something if placing on a solid surface like hardwood or tile. Nice cheap shelving with a slight industrial look.
